Looking to upskill while in employment? This night class is a great opportunity to build on your current health & wellbeing knowledge and enhance your career possibilities at no cost.
This part-time vocational programme will provide you with practical skills, preparing you for employment in a role supporting the health & wellbeing of others.
Training held, Monday – Thursday, 6.00pm-9.30pm. This programme requires students to complete work experience weekly (online is possible), outside of class hours. If you’re not currently working in a relevant health & wellbeing role, you’ll need to have availability to complete this work experience requirement.

What you will learn:
- Holistic wellbeing (whare tapa whā)
- New Zealand health and wellbeing sector legislation, regulations and codes
- Cultural competency and effective communication skills
- Recognise and respond to changing needs and issues in a health and wellbeing setting including signs of vulnerability and abuse
- Provide person-centred health and wellbeing support to maximise a person’s independence
What you will get:
Work experience during the programme
New Zealand Certificate in Health & Wellbeing Level 3 upon completion. 70 NZQA Credits.

Eligibility Criteria:
Must be a New Zealand Citizen or Permanent Resident
- Must be 16 years or older
Must have basic English skills
Entry interview to ensure you have the ability to complete a level 3 programme. Interview will include a discussion regarding relevant experience in the health & wellbeing sectors.
Fees: $3539 (*TTAF free training eligibility criteria applies).
